Output of Automobiles in China Surged to a New Record in 2010

In China, the total output of automobiles surged to a new record 18.26 million units in 2010, representing a 32.44% increase over 2009. (Source: CAAM). Both the output and sales of automobiles in China have exceeded 18 million respectively in 2010, which makes China rank first in output and sales of automobiles in the world. According to the latest data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, auto production and sales in China has respectively reached 18.26 million and 18.06 million units in 2010, up 32.44% and 32.37% over 2009. China became the first largest auto market in 2010 as well. Auto sales have steep increased above 18.06 million units in 2010, up 32.37% from 2009. Of the 13.89 million passenger cars manufactured in 2010, 13.76 million were sold, representing 33.83% and 33.17% increase over 2009, respectively (Source: CAAM). Since it is predicted that China’s macroeconomic development will be stable and sustainable, the fast development trend in auto industry will last for over 10 to 20 years. The total ouput and sales of automobiles are expected over 25 million units in 2020 and 30 million units in 2030.
